NEW! TKVox PicoAmp - microscopic amp power.

pico_powerpack1.jpgIncredibly small and lightweight 17mm (0.7") x 32mm (1.3") x 67mm (2.6"), the TKVox PicoAmp amplifier is a new addition to our family of compact comm kits.

Mounted in a custom fit case, this one breaks the mould of big box comm systems. This is the smallest and lightest amp (33 grams) we've made! It can be used in all types of helmet, Stormtroopers, Fetts, Clone Troopers etc.

pico_pp3_1.jpgThe modular PicoAmp system is offered on a continuous production basis (amp, mic, hovi speakers, powerpack and accessories). As with all our amps, it can be driven to a high volume considering the size of the speakers! The microphone is pre-amped so no need for an extra box of electronics or batteries to pre-amp the microphone.

If you require a PicoAmp, powerpack and microphone only (no hovi-mix tip speakers), just drop me an email. I can create a custom order for you. This also applies to any of our amps.

Check it out in our store.

Vortex Cooling Fan available now...

I've noticed that some troopers are using the "squirrel fan" design or "blower fan". They are larger (51mm x 51mm x 15mm) but they do pump out more air and are very power efficient.

vortex_powerpack.jpgSo, I thought it was about time to launch this type of fan coupled with my high build quality and design features. I'll still provide my smaller fans which are of the highest quality and fit into smaller spaces.

The Vortex fans operate from a 9v battery cell and are very easy to fit into your lid. They come equipped with all wires spiral wrapped for protection and glued for strain relief. They will even run from 4 x AAA but you do have to give the fan a little nudge to get it started. I recommend the 9v cell solution purely because the extra voltage helps the fan to run faster - faster fan, more air! The PowerPack is the standard switchable type - great with flight gloves!

The only downside is the cost. They blowers are four times the cost of the smaller 40mm fans! So, you get more air but they cost a little more.

Run-time report
Run-time is about 3.5 hours at high output but the fan was still running at 6 hours with a lower output. This is less run-time than the Micro Fan which I have had running at around 12 hours. Two Vortex fans would work well - one switched on for 4 hours and another as a backup for a long troop. Or one Vortex and a Micro in combination.

Available now in our Store or on Ebay...
